We found Angelique Russell working as an Educational Therapist. At the time our 6-year-old, first grade daughter was struggling with an extremely reading-centric curriculum at a private school and she was exhibiting signs of dyslexia. She could not read basic words like “cat,” “hat,” “mat” etc. nor any sight words. Not being dyslexic ourselves, my husband and I were looking for ways to support our daughter's reading journey as the traditional methods in school were insufficient. (We found out later that dyslexia runs in my family and that 4 of my aunts and uncles are also dyslexic). We tried a well-known franchised tutoring company prior to moving to Kid Kind Reading, the result was that the franchised company did not make any progress with our daughter's reading whatsoever. However, now after 7 months of working with Ms. Angelique a few times a week our daughter is now reading up to 3 syllable words. It is a miracle! Ms. Angelique has truly been a blessing to our family and we would recommend her to absolutely anyone that needs assistance with learning to read. The Kid Kind Reading program was created by Angelique Russell and it truly works. I hope to see this program implemented on a wider scale in the future because it has been life changing for our daughter and our family and I think many children worldwide could benefit from it. We ended up moving our daughter out of the private school and into a different learning environment where she is now “one of the best readers” according to the staff there. This would have never been possible without Kid Kind Reading and Angelique Russell; she is awesome and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

I was initially skeptical, as we've tried many tutoring sessions in the past without much success. Our daughter has been falling behind and struggling with reading, and it has been weighing heavy and starting to worry us. When Angelique mentioned that she would love to teach our daughter how to read, we decided to give it a try. I was so impressed with how thorough Angelique was from the very beginning. She took the time to gather important information before our session, which made me feel confident in her approach. What really stood out to me was how she engaged with our daughter, who is easily distracted and can also be timid and shy. Angelique didn’t push her, and she warmed up quickly to the lesson, making the whole process feel comfortable and natural. It was also incredibly helpful for me to sit in on the session. I was able to learn from Angelique's teaching methods and apply them when working with our daughter at home. Angelique provided us with printouts that she used during the session that we could keep and use for extra practice, which has been such a great resource. I'm so grateful for Angelique’s dedication, and I’m so excited to see the improvements in our daughter’s reading skills. We couldn’t be happier — I only wish we had started sooner.

Mrs. Angelique is an incredible tutor. My son has been working with her for several months, and not only have I seen significant improvement in his reading, writing, and speech, but I’ve also seen my son grow immensely in his confidence over the past five months. Every week, he is so excited to see her for his sessions. From the moment we started, it was clear that Mrs. Angelique is not only knowledgeable but also deeply passionate about helping others succeed. She tailors each lesson to my son's specific needs, using a variety of strategies to improve his comprehension, fluency, and overall confidence in reading. Mrs. Angelique is caring, passionate, and the best at what she does. This is the first time I’ve worked with a tutor who is so dedicated. I also appreciate how proactive she is in keeping me informed. I regularly receive updates on his progress and advice on how to support his learning at home. If you're looking for a tutor who is not only skilled but also passionate about helping students develop their reading abilities, she is the one to choose. I’m incredibly grateful for the progress my son has made under her guidance. You can tell when people love what they do, and Mrs. Angelique definitely does!

Ms. Angelique is one of a kind and we were lucky to find her. Our family was frustrated by the lack of reading progress and services being offered for kids with reading disabilities at their school. Both of my children came to her grade levels behind, not knowing the difference between long vowels and short vowels, and no decoding skills. They improve and learn something new every session. They are now both reading multi-syllable words and have started reading chapter books. It used to be a fight to get them to read and now they ask to read. She not only gives them the skills to read, she shares her passion and love for reading with them which has given them a love for reading as well.

Ms. Angelique has been working with my grandson for 6 months and has made phenomenal progress in his ability to read. First, she taught him phonics and decoding which just opened the gate to his confidence. My grandson has significant challenges with ADHD and Ms. Angelique is patient and kind while still keeping him engaged. If you child struggles with reading and comprehension she is able to work miracles. She is a extremely talented and creative educator that just shines with these children. Ms. Angelique is truly doing God's work cause she just loves teaching.

My daughter was struggling with reading, but after just a handful of sessions with Ms. Angelique, she’s already made huge strides. Ms. Angelique breaks reading down into simple, fun, and approachable steps that truly click. My daughter really connect with her because she’s fun, and honestly, I think some of us adults could benefit from her methods too! So many of us learned to read just by surviving and memorizing, and now I’m learning new things from my daughter that she learned from Ms. Angelique. I can’t recommend her enough, and only wish we could work with her even more.

Mrs. Angelique has been a game changer for our son. During the big transition into 3rd grade, our son was struggling to make the jump with reading to learn, instead of learning how to read. Mrs. Angelique's expertise in the field, coupled with a passion to help our son succeed has been nothing short of a godsend. We highly recommend her to anyone with smart, amazing kids, who just need a little extra help.
